It was an unlikely scenario that unfolded for Parise Racing. Two cars there to race and both do not make it into the show.

It was a very hot day at Atco Raceway for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association Race. There was a great turnout of cars as well as spectators.

“The cars have been running very well up to this point.” Stated Andrew Parise . “My ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette ran a 6.07 at 236 mph in testing on Friday. But, you never know what will happen on race day. As we all know, anything can happen. And, it did, or didn’t so to speak.”

Unfortunately there was a glitch with the tree during Andrew’s first qualifying run against Tim O’Hare. Andrew was able to sort it out at the tree, but shook the tires. Andrew’s second qualifier was not much better. Again, he shook.

Dina Parise and her ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette seemed to meet the same fate. “We tested o Friday, and she went down Broadway. Race day came and she shut me down.” Stated Dina Parise. “I just could not wrangle my car in this weekend. She shook during both qualifiers, and that was it. Game over.”

“Regardless of the outcome, the crew members did a great job.” Stated Dina. “We had great people helping us as usual this week. Charlie Saccoccio, James Montana, Nick Montana (Montana Pro Chassis Design),Rod, Fazekas , Rocco Micciolo , and Dave Jordan (Crew chief).Everyone pitched in.”

There was a bright side to the day, though. Parise Racing ran their Vettes for Vets program. In attendance were Vietnam Vererans from two groups; Vietnam Vets USA and NAM Knights America. The team was proud to have them as their guests.

Parise Racing would like to thank Kevin Sway and Atco Raceway for their cooperation in running the Vettes for Vets program. Atco supplied the tickets, parking and lunch for the Veterans.

The Parise’s would also like to thank Jim Barker for stopping by. He came by to drop off some t-shirts for the Veterans and to just shake their hands and say ‘thank you’.

“Jim is no stranger to what we do.” Stated Andrew. “He has made monetary donations in the past, and he made sure to stop by this weekend. We appreciate him taking the time out, and we know the Veterans appreciated it as well. We also want to congratulate him on his win!”

Next stop for the Parise Racing team will be Lebanon Valley Dragway, for the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 1 race. Don’t forget to tune in to the LIVE FEED! Visit; http://www.pariseracing.com/ or http://www.ustream.tv/channel/parise-racing to chat live!

As many of you know, Dina Parise not only drives that ’63 Corvette, but she also cooks for the team as well. She tends to cook so much that is why they call her ‘the Chef’. Well, she is getting a break from her cooking duties for a bit, thanks to Mannino’s Restaurant in Oakdale,NY. The team would like to thank them for providing the weekend’s meals (Dina especially!).
