Feeling free. Our lives are so busy, we rarely get

Feeling free. Our lives are so busy, we rarely get the chance to just feel free.
Taking the time to give our brains a rest is so important.
I am one of those people who just can’t shut my brain off. I need an outlet.
Best advice I can give is to find something you love to do. It can be anything…. And give yourself some time to enjoy what you love.

It’s been a long road. Lots of changes since 2018.
Andrews has worked hard on our program. Most ( if not all) the work was done by him, alone.
Trying to chronicle it all is a task.
Know we are working hard to be back on the track sometime this season.
There is always so much to do. The car ( Stella) , the trailer, marketing and social media.
We appreciate the support you all give! That’s what keeps that fire burning!

⚠️Long winded story warning ⚠️
❤️I’m thankful we can temper all this with humor ❤️
Back in September Andrew was admitted to the hospital and had emergency surgery on his elbow.
We subsequently found out that the surgeon that did his elbow surgery was a foot and ankle guy…. But I digress.
Since that surgery, Andrew has had a host of issues. He cannot use his arm as he could pre-surgery. He has random bouts of severe pain as well as feverish episodes. He just feels awful a lot of the time.
Needless to say he’s frustrated. Frustrated with the initial surgeon’s lack of communication and compassion. Frustrated with the fact that we are left holding the bag paying out the nose for additional Dr visits that should not have to happen.
Although it’s an ongoing issue , @cignahealthcare could care less. New year, new $5k deductible that needs to be met.
We have found another Orthopedic Surgeon. He’s been very forthcoming and willing to go the extra mile to help him. With insurance, our first visit was $400. 😱
He now needs an EMG to see if there is nerve damage. That’s going to be another $1,400 (even with insurance).
We still have the hospital bill.
I say all this because I cannot believe where we are in this country with healthcare. From the expense to the fact that the 1st surgeon has no worries about accountability. He can just walk away…. And not look back. What does he care? He got paid.
My advice to you all, is ask as many questions as you can. If they are not willing to respond, move on.
In an emergency situation, take notes. Get everyone’s name and ‘title’.
Be your own advocate, because the healthcare system is not designed to advocate for you.

Personally, I’m more concerned about the alternative. ☠️
Sounds cliché but everyday is truly a gift!
I recently turned 57. Some days I’m like , holy crap how did that happen?
Other days, I remember I still have GIANT goals to achieve.
Yes, getting older IS a privilege. All that means is that we all need to keep pushing. At any age.

2 weeks later, at another race I met my hubby in the Semi Final for NHRA Unleashed . I lost to him, but he won the event!
