Dina Parise Racing gearing up for Fleet Week NYC!

Honoring our Military. This is a time-honored tradition with the Dina Parise Racing team. One of the events that top’s this teams list is Fleet Week NYC!

Fleet Week is a U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard tradition in which active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in cities (such as New York) for one week. Once the ships dock, the crews can visit its tourist attractions and enjoy various activities.

Dina Parise and her husband Andrew are originally from New York, but now reside in Georgia. “We are happy to make the (800-mile) trip for this event.” Said Dina Parise “Getting to thank our Military Members in person is what it’s all about.”

With the assistance of their marketing partners as well as other sources, the DPR team is proud to have obtained various items to fill 200 ‘Gift Bags’ to pass on to our Military Members. Just a small token of appreciation for the sacrifice they make. “Everyone we reached out to was more than happy to donate items.” Said Parise. “This is something we would like to continue in the future, and expand.”

DPR will be appearing on Pier 86 at the Intrepid Museum, from May 27th – 29th (10am-6pm all days). Pier 86 is filled with interactive displays, hands-on learning opportunities, performances and more! DPR’s display will also be interactive. The team will have a ‘Christmas Tree’ (drag racing timing system) for attendees to try their hand at for ‘Reaction Time’, just like the racers use! “Between the last appearance (in 2012) and now, the team has evolved quite a bit, and we have gone through many changes.” Said Dina Parise. “My husband Andrew no longer drives, he is now solely my crew chief. We have sold off the Corvettes and now have Stella. We won the IHRA World championship with her in her debut year in 2015. The one constant is our support of the US Military, its members and their families. We consider ourselves lucky to do what we do. Fact of the matter is, it is a constant reminder that Freedom is not free. We take every chance we get to say thank you and show our appreciation to them for the sacrifice they have made for us. It’s the least we can do.”

Dina Parise Racing Welcomes Aerospace Components

They say everything happens for a reason. In the Dina Parise Racing camp, they have become believers in this statement. This team has learned that some days may be tougher than others, but they are just preparation for things to come.

And come they do. Recently DPR reached a sponsorship agreement with the Florida-based company, which will see Parise and her team competing in the remaining NMCA events; racing in the highly competitive VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod class.

“When Kim (Kussy) and I first met” Said Dina Parise “We hit it off. Two hard working women in this amazing industry both loving every minute of it. What’s not to like, right?”

The DPR team has a rich history in working with our Nation’s veteran population and military members in general. Some events many may have known about but there were quite a few that just never surfaced. It was for the veterans, not for the team. “I have always said it’s not about getting to the stripe first” Said Parise “But the journey you take to get there”. Aerospace Components started out doing Government contract jobs, and are a Mil certified shop. The company has been hiring veterans for the past 20 years.

Aerospace Components is quite supportive in the Drag Racing industry. They pay contingency on 5 products (all classes, all series with Promedia. For the last 5 years ): Brakes, ( Must have Front and Rear) Vacuum Pump,Water Pump, Fuel Pump and Shifter. They also support the racers with awesome programs like the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle for all events in all series NMCA, NMCA West and NMRA with Promedia. That is just part of what they do!

Much like DPR, Aerospace Components has a huge presence and following on social media and they share the success of the racers and their racing career. Don’t miss the innovative with new videos of “Kimmy’s Garage”! Learn how it’s made or how to install their products. They believe in educating and engaging customers and future customers about their products.

Both DPR and Aerospace Components are looking forward to this new partnership, and showing you the great products they have to offer all MADE IN THE USA!

The DPR team continues to push the envelope in every way. From performance to detail this team acknowledges and does it all. Stella sparkles and looks great because of the products provided by Eastwood and CRC Auto. She runs well and safely with products from as NGK, Lucas Oil, Speedwire Systems, Hussey Performance, Hoosier and Motorsports Unlimited. The DPR website looks great and runs efficiently thanks to the professionals at Crank It Media. DPR gets where they need to go with assistance from Aerospace Components.

Keeping the ‘Memorial’ in Memorial Day

Memorial Day: a holiday observed on the last Monday in May that is meant to honor and remember those who died in the military while serving their country.

There you have it. Honor and Remember. It seems to me that holidays meant to Honor our Nation’s Military members for their service have been essentially turned into a retail shopping and BBQ bonanza rather than embracing the meaning of the day. Since our Dina Parise Racing team has a vast background in honoring our Nation’s Military members, we have experienced this phenomena first hand. If you take one thing from this blog, it is my hopes that as families gather for the holiday everyone will remember (and teach) the importance of why WE have the privilege to enjoy the day never forgetting those who sacrificed so much for that privilege. Memorial Day Intrepid

One moment that stands out in my mind was a conversation I had with someone as we displayed our ’63 and ’53 Corvette Pro Mods at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum in 2012. A young (Swedish) tourist came over to us to ask “can you please explain this ‘Memorial Day’ Holiday to me? I see all the stores with red, white and blue in the windows and sale signs but I do not understand what the holiday is.” That was when it really hit me. Retailers utilize the term Memorial Day for their own benefit and most seem not to care or understand the meaning. Not to say that sales and picnics should not occur on this day, but we as citizens need to keep the meaning in the day.

In the past our DPR team has run programs on race days to honor the Military. We have met Active duty as well as Veterans and wounded Veterans of all ages. Having had the honor to work so closely with them makes me (us) want to create awareness for who they are and what they have accomplished. Everything WE do, everything WE accomplish leads back to those who have fought for our freedom. The term ‘Freedom is Not Free’ is not to be taken lightly. We need not feel a sense of entitlement but rather appreciate how unbelievably lucky we are.Memorial Day 4

On this day I ask that you all fly your flag high. When gathering together please take a moment to remember those who sacrificed for our freedom. Maybe take a quick trip to a military cemetery and lay a wreath to commemorate those we have lost. Let your children understand and respect what they have done. No matter where you are , at 3 p.m. local time, all Americans are asked to pause wherever they are for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation.

Enjoy your day with your families.

Dina Parise Racing~ Keeping the Memory in Memorial Day

It seems that in this day and age we are a society driven by instant gratification and plagued with short term memory. What ‘sells’ on the news and in print are stories about the impending nuptials of stars (reality or actual celebrity) or the death of a celebrity (many times due to their own addictions), not stories regarding how many soldiers were lost that day or even that week. Sports stars are being labeled as heroes merely for putting a ball into a net or carrying it over a goal line. It is Sensationalism VS. Realism and reality is certainly the victim in this scenario.

The fact remains that more than 7,000 American service members (Male and Female) have been killed since the attacks of September 11, 2001, and well over 50,000 have been injured. Many of those injuries so severe, that if they were sustained in a prior conflict the soldier would not have survived. Our nation has been entered in many conflicts. The loss and injury numbers are staggering. As years go by our country and its citizens seems to hold less regard for those who sacrifice so much defending it and protecting the very freedom enjoyed by all.

Back to Reality: The reality of it all is that what has become ‘important’ is really not reality at all. The shift in what has ‘meaning ‘has come down to where the money is rather than where the morality is. It has become more important to plug a non-talent reality star’s wedding than Medal of Honor recipient (former) Army Sgt. Kyle J. White , especially on Memorial DayWeekend? Has Memorial Day become more about the sales in the stores, the Barbeques and the beer? Does anyone actually know the real meaning of Memorial Day? Who takes the time to go to a National or Veteran Cemetery to pay respects or place a flag? Not many. This needs to change.

The Dina Parise Racing team has had the honor on a few occasions to participate in ‘Fleet Week’ at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York. It is a breathtaking place to be no matter the time of year. Fleet Week happens to fall during Memorial Day Weekend .The team has met people from all over the world. One woman from Sweden really hit the nail on the head with what she said. She asked “What is this Holiday? I see Red, White and Blue everywhere. There are sales in all the stores, but I do not understand what the Holiday is. Can you explain it to me?” Our DPR team obliged. ‘ Memorial Day is a US federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered.’ But are they? The unfortunate reality to that is it seems the younger generation has the same question. We need to bring back the importance of this and all the Veteran holidays because the honor has been earned.

Now, of courseno one is saying do not have a ‘Welcome Summer’ Barbeque, or do not go shopping for that perfect pair of sandals. The point is, to remember why you can do all of these things you are doing with such ease. Take a moment to reflect. If you see a Veteran, thank them. Take you children to a National Cemetery to place a flag or have them volunteer in a VA home. Giving back to those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom is not too much to ask.

Always remember Freedom is not Free…… Hate the war, not the warrior…. Fly your flag proudly!

On another note….. the DPR team will be seeing you all out there soon! More to come shortly!

People always ask how this DPR team can get out there to do what they do, especially with our US Military! Marketing Partners are the key to DPR’s success!
