The Dina Parise Racing team as many know consists of Dina and her husband Andrew. Each playing specific roles on and off the track. “We are a team in every sense of the word,” Said Parise “It can be difficult having to work together, live together and race together. Dina Parise Racing NMCA All American Nationals Recap

‘The heat is on!’ That was certainly the term for the NMCA All American Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway this past weekend. With temperatures well into the 90 degree range and a track temperature of 140 degrees, you could fry Meatballs on the starting line! Temperature aside, the racing and track conditions were phenomenal!

This was the first of the three race deal for Dina Parise Racing and Aerospace Components. The team did not only represent Aerospace on the track, they were a fixture on the manufacturer’s midway as well. “What an exciting way to spend a race weekend!” Said Dina Parise “We were honored that Aerospace and NMCA wanted DPR as representatives on the midway. We had a blast with the fans! We are looking forward to doing it again in Joliet and Norwalk.”

For DPR this 2016 season has been a bit of a struggle, yet it seems things are finally beginning to turn a corner. “Although we were certainly not the fastest this weekend,” Said Andrew Parise “We were consistent. Stella went A to B on all but one pass and she was straight as an arrow. Seems we have found the issues and we can improve from here. I’m happy with that. Now my wife will get off my case.” He laughs.

The team qualified #10 in a 16 car field. In 1st Round Parise ran Richard Holt. Parise ran a 4.120 to Holt’s 4.108 but won the round due to Holt fouling out. Parise then took on Randy Adler in round 2. Adler won the round with a 4.027 over Parise’s 4.157. “All in all, I’m happy with our performance” Said (Andrew) Parise “We went down in the heat. We didn’t break anything. Hallelujah, as I said, the wife is off my case. Somewhat!”

“I cannot thank my team enough!” Said (Dina) Parise “My husband Andrew and Butch worked their tails off this weekend. They always do. Work hard and laugh harder. It’s what keeps us sane, successful and from killing each other!” She laughs.

A bit of a fun side note. Parise is meeting some of her fellow drivers for the first time here at NMCA. Case in point, Richard Holt who hails from Texas. Prior to running 1st round Parise and Holt had a conversation in the staging lanes, to which Holt explained he has given her a nickname. Holt was asked by other drivers who he was running in the 1st round. His answer? “Oh, I have ‘Tiny Dancer’!”. He proceeded to explain this to Parise and informed her this was now how he would (affectionately) refer to her. Seemingly it is sticking, the name was heard quite a bit throughout the pits (and on social Media) for the remainder of the weekend!

The team wants to thank and recognize the NMCA organization for the spot on track prep they maintained throughout the weekend. They also would like to recognize Bangshift.com for the live feed coverage of the race. A top notch job done by all.

The next race on the DPR schedule is the NMCA Super Bowl at Route 66 Raceway, July 28-31. Once again Bangshift.com will be airing their live feed all weekend long. Don’t forget DPR also has a live pit cam as well, featuring a ‘birds eye view’ of the pit and all that goes on! You can find the pit cam on the team’s website http://dinapariseracing.com/ throughout the race weekend.

The DPR team continues to push the envelope in every way. From performance to detail this team acknowledges and does it all. Stella sparkles and looks great because of the products provided by Eastwood and CRC Auto (including the new Smart Washer). She runs well and safely with products from as NGK, Lucas Oil, Speedwire Systems, Hussey Performance, Hoosier and Motorsports Unlimited. The DPR website looks great and runs efficiently thanks to the professionals at Crank It Media. DPR gets where they need to go with assistance from Aerospace Components.

Dina Parise Racing Welcomes Aerospace Components

They say everything happens for a reason. In the Dina Parise Racing camp, they have become believers in this statement. This team has learned that some days may be tougher than others, but they are just preparation for things to come.

And come they do. Recently DPR reached a sponsorship agreement with the Florida-based company, which will see Parise and her team competing in the remaining NMCA events; racing in the highly competitive VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod class.

“When Kim (Kussy) and I first met” Said Dina Parise “We hit it off. Two hard working women in this amazing industry both loving every minute of it. What’s not to like, right?”

The DPR team has a rich history in working with our Nation’s veteran population and military members in general. Some events many may have known about but there were quite a few that just never surfaced. It was for the veterans, not for the team. “I have always said it’s not about getting to the stripe first” Said Parise “But the journey you take to get there”. Aerospace Components started out doing Government contract jobs, and are a Mil certified shop. The company has been hiring veterans for the past 20 years.

Aerospace Components is quite supportive in the Drag Racing industry. They pay contingency on 5 products (all classes, all series with Promedia. For the last 5 years ): Brakes, ( Must have Front and Rear) Vacuum Pump,Water Pump, Fuel Pump and Shifter. They also support the racers with awesome programs like the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle for all events in all series NMCA, NMCA West and NMRA with Promedia. That is just part of what they do!

Much like DPR, Aerospace Components has a huge presence and following on social media and they share the success of the racers and their racing career. Don’t miss the innovative with new videos of “Kimmy’s Garage”! Learn how it’s made or how to install their products. They believe in educating and engaging customers and future customers about their products.

Both DPR and Aerospace Components are looking forward to this new partnership, and showing you the great products they have to offer all MADE IN THE USA!

Andrew Parise- You can’t take it with you

So all in all it has been a tough year for us . Stella (the Pro Mod Cadillac) in the beginning of the year was a complete Italian biotch. We brought on new brain trust and so it seems Stella is in love with Quain Stott. She reacts well to everything he does. But then we have a problem with another short Italian.  No not me,that would be Dina Parise I am referring to. A bad car can make a good driver seem bad. But then when you take that scenario and swap it, that same driver may become very hesitant. I can tell you the road trips home were not so much fun at times. It’s hard to be looking in from the outside. As a driver I am more critical. So, my mouth opens before my brain tells it not to ( most of the time). Quain is helping me with that. He has put these keywords in place… “When you smell trouble, Lift Andrew.” Let’s just say, I’m still learning that one.

So here we sit.31 points ahead in the IHRA Crower Pro Mod Series. You can taste it and feel it. All you want is that championship. I know Bill Lutz is bringing his A++++ game. He has been fast for sure, but let’s just say this ; we are all in. We don’t quit, or give up the fight. We will give it everything we have and then some. We owe this championship to a lot of people that have stuck with us through the years.

This is more then a championship for me it is very personal. When your told you can’t do things or you won’t amount to much it makes you want it more. This is not only a big accomplishment for our team it is personal as well. I work hard at the shop on my own but we work together as a family. Win or lose we have still made it. As a family.

Life is funny, some people are blessed to have best friends from childhood. Others have few close friends. I have come to realize lately that people will throw you under the bus regardless of friendship, just to benefit themselves. I didn’t grow up that way. I grew up to give respect and to have loyalty. I will continue to give it if it is reciprocated.

There are those who feel as if their larger bank account allows them to treat others with disrespect. Frankly, that really pisses me off. This is why Dina does not allow me out without my leash. LOL! Think about it this way; No matter how much money you have you can’t take it with you. Take your bank accounts away and what do you have? Stop and smell the roses and really think about it. My father spent his life thinking he was going to ‘take it with him’, then BAM a stroke and gone. So, enjoy your time. Say excuse me, thank you hold a door, say good morning (rather than a crabby grunt). Never see anyone as beneath you. Help those that want to be helped. My wife always quotes Ralph Kramden “Be kind to people on the way up because you will meet the same people on the way down”. So true.

Well, it’s back to the grind for this little man. I’m off the leash and it’s time to get going. Wish us luck. Thank you to everyone that has helped us and supported us all these years. Hey, maybe I can get back to driving next year. A championship would help the cause!

See you at the Finals!

Dina Parise leaves IHRA Presidents Cup on a High Note

For those who have been following the Pro Mod career of Dina Parise, you are most likely well aware of her ‘relationship’ with Maryland International Raceway. Beginning in the days back when Dina Parise Racing was a two car husband and wife Pro Mod team leading to now, there is a rich history both good and miserably bad at MDIR. For Dina, the last time she left there it was on bad terms. She was determined to change that and for all intents and purposes, she did. Although the events leading into the race week made it seem as if her history may have been setting a precedent for her upcoming week.

This DPR team is no stranger to adversity as of late. Seemingly, someone has not been owning up to the fact that they are giving food and water to the ‘Gremlins’ after midnight and yes for a moment they took control. Picture it if you will. Arriving home early on a Monday morning fresh off a testing session with Stella the Cadillac Pro Mod. No ‘crew’ on hand at this point. It was just Andrew and Dina ready to unload (the trailer contents) in order to get maintenance and prep done to head to MDIR on Wednesday evening (for IHRA Presidents cup Crower Pro Mod). Do not forget the ‘regular’ shop work being accomplished as well. When lo and behold, the lift gate fails to work. And with no manual override, all of the contents were captive in their enclosure. Stella became a hostage in her own environment. The fix? Drive the rig the Renegade/Kibbi in Indianapolis immediately. So Andrew did.

None of this was in the ‘plan’, but in the scheme of things it could always be worse, right? In the end, the team made it to the track race ready. Sort of. “Well, we arrived.” Stated Andrew Parise. “Next step was to give Stella some air and get her ready. Poor girl was cooped up in that trailer in need of some TLC. It was a nutty week. Only us!” He laughs.

The team went up for the first qualifier on Friday and had to back out at the line due to an oil pressure issue that plagued them all weekend. The second qualifier was called due to rain. The third and final qualifier left Dina in the 6th spot with a 6.416 @ 196.64. She would face Ruben Tetsoshvili in round 1 of eliminations. It would be a re-run of the Cordova final! With Ruben having won Cordova and being the point’s leader, Dina was feeling the pressure. Compounding that, the team was battling an oil pressure issue with Stella and she was just not running up to par.

Ruben had a slight advantage at the tree with a .114 over Dina’s .173 light. Dina had the advantage rest of the way. She got the win light. A round win, taking out the point’s leader and gaining peace mind. Both she and her team needed, worked hard for and wanted this and they achieved it. To many this may seem a minor accomplishment, to DPR it was moving a mountain. “Coming into this IHRA Presidents Cup weekend I had a lot to prove.” Stated Dina Parise. “A lot to prove to myself. I needed to know I was not letting anything negative rent space in my brain. I actually do love this facility. It’s a great place to race. From the track surface to the fans. I love it. But in the last couple of outings, we did not see eye to eye. I needed to change that. We were not the fastest this weekend, but I slayed the dragon all while taking out the points leader! My team rocked it out. Thank you to Andrew, Butch, Charlie(AKA Uncle Mel), Jody and Toni! Change is good! I’m a happy girl!”

Unfortunately, the remainder event was cancelled (due to inclement weather) and will conclude at the Northern Nationals at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan on August 7 – 8. The DPR team will be there to finish off the final elimination rounds! This coming week the IHRA nitro Jam Mopar Nationals will be at Grand Bend Motorplex. The team will not be attending this event due to budget constraints.

At this point, Dina Parise is standing at #2 in IHRA Crower Pro Mod, only 6 points behind Ruben Tetsoshvili. The DPR team continues to push the envelope in every way. From performance to detail this team acknowledges and does it all. Stella sparkles because of the products provided by USA Auto Supply and CRC. She runs well and safely due to products such as DJ Safety, NGK, Speedwire Systems, Hoosier, Motorsports Unlimited and LAT. A special thank you to ‘Uncle Mel’s Mystery Appitizers’. Life is for Living and Racing

The 2015 Dina Parise Racing season is under way. Teams are getting their last minute items completed and before we know it racing will be in full swing. Things are flying by lately, the days are nights and the nights are days, you know when you have to ask what day is it, you are shot.

The new business (Andi-Con Performance) is coming together, all the pieces are coming together nicely. Just taking a little more time then I had planned. We are OPEN for business as of February 9th with a grand opening planned for in April. It is going to be a huge opening with a car show, great food and of course show off the new business. I worked in Corporate America for over 20 years, wore many hats during that period. Someone told me a long time ago, you won’t get rich working for someone else and it is very true. But isn’t all about the money, I want to be excited about what I do, provide a reason for waking up and going to work. With this new adventure I look forward to making a difference.

I cannot wait to go testing with the Dina Parise Racing Cadillac CTSV. We have to finish some new things and make our final changes. It has been way too long and can’t take looking at everything sitting still. Living in PA has the same weather as NY but it has some serious winds which makes it extremely cold. I hate the cold, did I tell you…. I hate the cold. Well the cold is close to Mushrooms which gross me out. Anyway, running one car is going to be a lot of fun this year and different. We run a converter so our maintenance is bit easier than the guys with the clutches. But who knows what the future brings. I was always the guinea pig, well now the boss can be. Plus, not driving is going to give me a lot of time be a thorn in the side to the boss.

2015 seemed like it was going okay, until I got a call that my father had a major stroke, he was found by my middle brother sitting in the car in a supermarket parking lot. He was there for 6 hours in 20 degree weather. My family has a bad health history with my mother dying at the age of 53 to Cancer, my grandmother had a stroke and now this. As many know my father and I have different outlooks in life and had major differences. He has helped many people in his life. He was a Lt. Col in the Air Force and an Art teacher. He was recovering well for a bit but then took a turn for the worse and passed on. I was an Altar boy (in the Catholic Church) at one time. Yes Me an Altar Boy. This was fun as we found out the red stuff was really good wine. All I can say is don’t drink the wine before a funeral mass. When you ring the bells, it doesn’t mean let’s dance. Just saying.. Anyway, I don’t go to church as often as I should, but I do believe my mother is kicking his ass right now about a lot of stuff.

So, this brings to me to something near and dear to me. You have to remember where you came from and live your life. When my mother died I swore I would live my life to its fullest. I have some things I still want to accomplish but I have done a lot of things. To have to live within your means is well,  a bit overrated. I am not saying go out and max your credit card. All  I am saying go and buy something new now and then. You never know, by the time you read the end of this blog it could be your last breath. It’s a scary thought but it’s true. Maybe that’s why I drive a Pro Mod, but that may change too. You can’t live saying ‘what if’ and ‘shoulda , coulda, woulda’ all your life, I have lived like that and it is boring. You might as well wrap yourself in bubble wrap before you leave the house. Go out and live. Do something different each day. Don’t wait for something to happen so you can say I should have did things differently. Go make your statement.

Now, back to reality or somewhat reality; DRAG RACING!!!! We have many choices to race, NHRA,IHRA,PDRA and other venues. I hear all the chatter about how one organization should control rules or why there isn’t a standard set of rules for all classes. Why is the speed limit different in every state, why are the taxes different in every state, why are NY property tax so high. An even playing field is great if everyone can play on the same field at the same time. But not everyone can play on that field at the same time nor can some afford to. The Pro Mod group has a “buy in” then you have to pay NHRA their fee for each race. Maybe this is the future, I don’t know. IHRA and PDRA have no buy in, just a cost to enter the race. My point to this is each series has different rules to accommodate different racers. Is one right or one wrong? I don’t know. Choose what works for ‘you’.

It is going to be a great year of racing in every series, from Nitro to Sportsman. I miss my racing family and can’t wait to get back on the track as a C… Cr….. Crew member. WOW, that was hard to say.

Stay warm and see everyone soon.

Dina Parise Racing welcomes USA Auto Supply

Dina Parise Racing welcomes USA Auto Supply

Andrew Parise has other nicknames besides ‘Bam Bam’, one of them is ‘Shiney’. Yes you read that correctly, ‘Shiney’. Andrew has an obsession with keeping all the Parise’s vehicles clean enough to eat a good Italian meal off of. Race cars can be a challenge to keep clean, but in the Dina Parise Racing camp cleanliness is next to … well, you know!

To look your best, you need superior products. USA Auto Supply carries those products. USA Auto Supply has been a supporter of Dina Parise Racing for many years. For the 2015 season, owner Ivan Mejias has decided to increase his support of the team to becoming a Marketing Partner. http://www.usaautosupply.com/

“Having USA Auto Supply on board as a Marketing Partner is very exciting for our team,” states Dina Parise. “They sell a myriad of amazing cleaning products as well as paint. All cleaning products are produced and tested by Ivan himself.” Said Dina

“USA Auto Supply is very happy to be stepping up our support of DPR.” Stated Ivan Mejias. “They (DPR) are true Marketing ‘Partners’. This team knows how to bring the consumers to the product. In the end, that is the main objective.” Said Ivan.

“I don’t like dirty vehicles, “stated Andrew Parise. “ I am bit OCD about keeping things clean. I have to admit, USA Auto Supplies’ products make my job easy, certainly easier than dealing with the boss!” He laughs.

One particular product, for the racers out there is USA Auto Supply’s ‘Tar Remover’ product that is second to none! This product removes (tire) rubber from the wheelie bars as well as the car itself without blemishing the paint. In addition, the Spray Waxes, Chrome Polishes, Tire Shine and Leather Cleaners (to name a few) work well for all car enthusiasts. From inside to out, these products will keep your vehicle looking show worthy! Not only do the products work well, they are priced well. You will not have to break the bank to look your best!

“Our DPR team has been utilizing USA Auto Supply products for years.” Stated Dina “We are proud to also announce that we will be carrying their products at Andi-Con Performance as well. Providing cutting edge products to our customers, fans and fellow racers is what we are all about.”

People always ask how the DPR team can get out there to do what they do. Of course their Marketing Partners are the key to DPR’s success! The DPR team works hard to keep their Advertisers happy! Check out the Advertisers and go ahead and try their products and services! DPR uses them all!
