From Super Comp bracket racing to Pro Mod heads up racing. It has come full circle. For Dina and Andrew Parise, this is going to be a real knock down drag out, fight to the finish…as they say.

They are going back to where it all began. Maple Grove Super Chevy is where Dina first watched Andrew race his 1967 blown Camaro. It is where she got the ‘bug’. It is where Andrew first unveiled the 53 Corvette Pro Mod paint scheme. It is also where Dina first ran the same 1967 blown Camaro Andrew once ran.

It has now come full circle. No more bracket racing. Pure heads up, run what you brung racing!  Now it is time for these two drivers to go head to head in an exhibition race.  Let’s call it what it is, its double trouble.

It has been overheard in the pits that Crew Chief Dave Jordan has rented a getaway vehicle. He is not yet sure whom he will be running from, that remains to be seen.

So come and watch Parise Racing at the Super Chevy Show! Check the EVENTS tab for more information.

This edition of Parise Racing news is not going to be about us, our cars or any new developments in the Parise Racing program. We felt the need to post a story relative to what we do, but with no relation to Drag Racing at all.

As a team, we at Parise Racing felt the need to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice. We understand that ‘freedom is not free', and we wanted to find a way to say ‘thank you'.First, we created the paint scheme for Andrew's 1953 Montana Bros. built Corvette Pro Mod. It is a beautiful car modeled after a p-40 fighter jet, with POW/MIA flags and a fallen soldier on the back deck. We met many veterans that viewed the car, and the feedback was very positive. They thanked us, go figure! When it came to creating a scheme for Dina's 1963 Tim McAmis built Corvette Pro Mod, we really wanted to make a statement. We want the fans to look at the car and make them think. Our hope is that next time they meet a veteran, or someone currently in any branch of the military they will shake their hand and say ‘thank you'. We were able to accomplish this with the experts at Performance Auto Crafters. We gave them the ideas and a concept. Just as with the Andrew's car they nailed it. The most moving tribute on the car is our piece of the Vietnam Wall. We have two names in particular that are special to us on the car; John C. Oldfied and James Cain. James Cain is our friends Dad who was a veteran of three wars. He was wounded in Vietnam, after coming under enemy fire. He subsequently died of his injuries after returning stateside. We placed his name on our car due to the fact that he has been denied having his name placed on the ‘Wall' in Washington. Maybe this will bring him one step closer to where he should really be, who knows. Both paint schemes also help in representing our support for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The fund benefits service men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with severe injuries and/or severe brain trauma. 100% of funds raised go directly to the fund. With Christmas coming Andrew Parise thought of a great present for Dina Parise. So he purchased a new 526 ERD Hemi from ERD, Carl Spiering. With the help from Carl Spiering, Terry and Rob at ERD Dina is going to a new engine program for her 63 Tim McAmis Corvette in 2009. ERD has a proven record of knowledge and power. Tony Pontieri ran 5.90's at the NHRA Jegs Pro Mod event at Virginia Motorsports Park. "It is not everyday a woman gets a Hemi for Christmas, (and is excited about it)" stated Dina." and I am very excited about it."

With this latest edition to the engine program, Parise Racing now runs a 526 ERD Hemi in both the 53 Montana Bros. Corvette and 63 Tim McAmis Corvette Pro Mods. "We feel that ERD and Carl Spiering have a winning combination for us. Both Dina and I are very comfortable with our set ups. It should be a great season," stated Andrew.

Next, was to create a memorable paint scheme for the car. It is not your typical paint scheme and we could only trust one person, Barney Squires at Performance Auto Crafters, in Virginia. This paint scheme will not only look phenomenal, but it will send a message and make the fans think. Racing to win as well as with a purpose, that is what Parise Racing is about as a team.

So, stay tuned to www.pariseracing.com for the latest details! Check back to see the completed paint scheme and for more information.

" We tested both race cars last month at Virginia Motorsports and the outcome was great", stated Andrew Parise, They say patience is a virtue. This was a long process. I'm glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel ."

Andrew is driving the Montana Bros. built 1953 Corvette , powered by a 526 Hemi from ERD , Carl Speiring." It was a great site to see", stated Dina Parise. "It was wonderful to see the car on the track, and to see Andrew behind the wheel again was even better. We have worked on this program for a long time and it finally paid off "

Dina is driving her Tim McAmis 1963 Corvette. " We had the nerves going. It is a big step going from a bracket car running low 9's to a Pro Mod, but I know my wife. As a former professional figure skater she has determination and the mind set to succeed ," stated Andrew. " Dina had a lot to learn , and she was like a sponge . From the start up to burnouts she did a awesome job. With the couple days of testing she proved to everyone she is going to be a great driver ."

The Parise Racing program is constantly changing for the better and it could not be accomplished without ERD, Carl Speiring, Terry and Rob. " I know we made the right choice on working with ERD ", stated Andrew. " Carl is consulting for the team as well as having built the 526 Hemi in the '53. He and his team will continue to work closely with Parise Racing . "

Parise Racing has had many positive changes to the team. Another positive change is the addition of Dave Jordan as Crew Chief." Dave was on hand during our testing and was right at home with the Pro Mods as well as the team ", stated Dina. " It was great to have Dave at the test session . Getting him acclimated to the cars and the team was very important for all of us ", stated Andrew. " We wanted someone with experience and a good attitude running our cars . Dave fit what we were looking for and we couldn't be happier ."

Parise Racing has made many positive changes and is anticipating the 2009 season.

Dina and Andrew would like to thank :

Carl, Terry and Rob from ERD for awesome engine program and more than anything , keeping us safe.

Dave Jordan for coming on as Crew Chief and getting to work as fast as he did

Charlie Saccoccio, AKA Uncle Mel, who was on his game all three days of testing.

The crew in VMP for giving us a great race track that provided some good racing .

Parise Racing 63 Vette Tim McAmis built Pro Mod Has Arrived!
On July 20th at the Super Chevy Show event in Maple Grove, the 67 camaro saw the race track for the last time . This was a great race car but it is time to put her back on the street and do some cruising. The camaro was first driven by Andrew Parise then Dina Parise and has been through many changes. With numerous engine explosions, a couple of transmissions and one fire she has earned her retirement.

With the camaro retired Dina has moved on to a 1963 Blown Corvette Pro Mod built by Tim McAmis. Tim McAmis Race Cars did a great job on the car . Fitting a small driver was no easy task and posed some issues, but the team at Tim McAmis got the job done.www.timmcamis.com .

Both Andrew and Dina are very competitive people. With two Pro Mods in the family, next season should be exciting , to say the least!

We update our ‘news' page on our website frequently, so keep checking our progress!
