June 21, 2010

Hi folks! Bella Booda here! It has been a busy month here at Parise Racing. Mommy and Daddy have been dragging me everywhere! But, I don’t mind, because I made lots of new friends.

I will pick up where we left off. We went to Maryland International Raceway for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Race. Mommy and Daddy both qualified, (I am getting quite good at the terms, even for a dog!) but no trophy this time. I think that was o.k. though. Here’s why….

Mommy and Daddy ran the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program at MIR. Boy, did we get to meet some great people! Some were Veterans, some Wounded Warriors and some were active duty Military! They taught me that, they are the reason why I am such a lucky dog! I gave them lots of kisses to thank them! If I had a voice, I would tell everyone to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior project. You can make a donation at the Parise Racing pit at any event or on line, by visiting here: http://www.pariseracing.com/causes.php . If you donate at the track, you can pet me too! That’s a great deal, right?

Next we went to Virginia Motorsports Park for ADRL. That was fun! I got my picture taken so many times! I was even on ADRL’s website! Here’s the link: http://www.adrl.us/index.php/main/race/59/ . If you scroll down, you will see Mommy and Daddy first, then me!

Daddy ran a 3.93 to the 1/8th. That’s really good! Mommy did not do as well. But, the race was fun and we saw our friends!

Before we went home, we stopped somewhere. It was a place called Fort Lee Army Base. Remember the great people I told you about? Well, there was a whole bunch of them there! Mommy and Daddy and the team parked the cars in front of the PX .So as the Military members came to do their shopping, they would stop, talk and see the cars. It was a great day for everyone!

TThen, back to New York for a few days and off to Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 1 race. Whew! This racing stuff is tiring!

Then again, we go back to VMP! Wow! It’s o.k., because we really like this place! This time it was to do a show called ‘Pinks All Out’. The show was cool, but the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program was cooler! More great people! Guess what? This time, you can see the program in action! Just visit: http://www.pariseracing.com/ to see a great video! Our good friend Wayne Covil of WTVR TV CBS 6 in Richmond, Virginia made the video. It’s a great video, well with one exception… I am not in it! Mommy also said the Pullin T.V.people were really nice too!

I watched them pack up, again. Now where are we going? “Back to NY “, I hear them say. Oh, good, we are going home! Nope not for long! Home for a few days, then off to New Jersey. This one confused me. Mommy’s car was out. And Daddy’s car was in the trailer. I didn’t get that. This was a big deal too. Let me see if I can get it right….. NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge. That’s it! Mommy had mechanical problems, so she did not run very well. But, she won best appearing car! She got a Wally! I don’t know who ‘Wally’ is, but they were all very excited to get him, so I guess I should be too!

Something sad happened at that race though. A racer named Neal Parker died on Friday during qualifying. We send our condolences to his family. /p>

We had time off this week. Mommy and Daddy worked outside to clean the yard. I just chew my bones and watch. If Mommy only knew how funny she looks picking up my poops. Sorry folks, I guess that’s too much information! What do I care, I ‘m a dog.

The next stop is Atco Raceway on June 26th , for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. Race! New Jersey here we come, again! Fast Pro Mods and the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program! What more could you want? Oh, you want to meet me, right? Stop by the Parise Racing pits and say hello!

See you at the races!

May 12, 2010 — On the road again…

Hey everyone! Bella the wonder Pug here! I am sure you are curious to know what I have been up to, so here goes!

As you know, I am the cutest member of the Parise Racing team. So, my looks have been hard at work helping to raise donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. I know I am a lucky dog because of our Nation’s soldiers. Without all they have sacrificed, I may not have the great life that I have!

We have been to my favorite place, Virginia Motorsports Park two times in recent weeks. I love it there! I get to see all my human friends, and Cappy, my furry friend!

First, we went to the Super Chevy Show. That was lots of fun! Only Daddy was racing that weekend. Mommy was still recovering from her surgery. Daddy seemed a bit annoyed that week. Guess the car did not work as well as he wanted.

Our next stop to VMP was for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod race. First I went with Mommy, Dave Jordan , and Nick and James Montana. Nick Montana is from Montana Bros. Pro Chassis design. He built Daddy’s car and came along to help with testing Mommy’s car. Daddy had to work.

There was a lot of work going on with Mommy’s car. Something about ‘rear gears’. But, they fixed it and Mommy went really fast! 6.09 @ 235 MPH just for an example. Daddy arrived late Thursday .I was very happy to see him.

They fixed a bunch of things on both cars. I don’t know, looks like too much work to me. I would rather take a nap in my stroller!

Friday night Mommy had a match race against Harold Martin. She fell asleep at the tree, that’s what they said. I don’t know what that means, but a nap sounds good to me! So, her 4.02 lost to his 4.24. It’s O.K. I’m still going to be there when she comes back to give her a kiss!

They said they were warming up for the weekend. Well, when Saturday came, trust me it was warm enough! WHEW! Too hot for my furry body, I stayed in the Motor home.

Saturday was time for the NEOPMA race. Daddy qualified #1 ! I knew he could do it! Mommy was #5. Again, there was a lot of work going on! The cars were apart and back together more times than I could count!

Daddy lost first round. Something broke. That’s what I heard them say. Mommy on the other hand was having a good day! When she came back, she had a big trophy! She won! Everyone was happy! I just needed to go outside to do my business. Sometimes I think they forget that.

Next stop is Maryland International Raceway, for the NEOPMA race. I have been watching them work, and everything looks good to me!

I will be back soon with more ‘Team Talk’, Pug style!

See you at the races!

February 7, 2010 — Getting Ready for 2010!!

So, it has been entirely too long since my last blog post. I will not let that happen again! Things have been a little nutty in the Parise camp lately! HHHMMM…… Where do I start? O.K. Here we go.

First of all, Mommy tells me I should say I hope that everyone’s New Year is starting off well. I’m a dog; so really, it’s all the same to me.

Mommy and Daddy traveled to Orlando to the PRI show in December, along with Crew Chief Dave and his wife Bambi. They left me home this trip! I don’t know why, I always go with them! They got to see and purchase some great products for the cars! They met up with lots of fellow racers and good friends. Here are just a few names… Bruce Mullins, Candyce Marsh, Maurice Bea from Pro Outlaw Dorrslammers, Big Dog Carl Spiering (I think I will stay away from him) ,Diana and Frank Patille, Vito and John from NorthEast Outlaw Pro Mod Association, Roger Richards, Lisa Richards ,John Stanley (Steering Wheel Tech. extraordinaire!), Camp Stanley ( Drag Racing’s Rock Star!) ,Rebecca (from Vicci) and Dave Hance .Whew, that’s allot of people, and I think I may have forgotten some! But, I can’t forget this one… They also met MY biggest fan! Her name is Ellen E.! See, I have fans too! Sometimes it’s all about being cute!

Poor Mommy, she started off the New Year with a much needed hand surgery. Daddy and I have been taking good care of her, so, don’t worry; she will be BETTER than new, just in time for race season!

Daddy has been out in the garage with Dave working on both cars, but not before…….. First the cars went down to Performance Auto Crafters for a bit of paint and body refreshing. The ’53 came back first. They started with the ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette. Now she is all refreshed and ready to rock! Next back was the ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette. She needed a bit more TLC. With the suspension issues Mommy had in her car last year, some adjustments needed to be made before the start of this season. After coming back from paint, the ’63 went to MBRC (Montana Bros.) for the adjustments. Then back to our garage for Daddy and Dave to do their thing! She’s just about ready ……..

I see them using a GIANT light up thing…..I hear them calling it ‘the tree’. They say they are practicing. I’m not so sure what it is, but I think you all know what I am talking about!

So, now I wait. I wait to see Mommy begin to pack the Motor Home, then I know it’s time to go racing!

Be sure to check our Events Calendar! It is filling up! Remember, you can see me,’ Bella Booda’ at all the Events! Look for me in my tricked out Jr. Dragster stroller! And, be sure to please make a donation to one of the great charities that Mommy and Daddy support! Keep checking the ‘our causes’ tab for information!

Don’t forget, we are always open to new sponsorship opportunities! Feel free to contact any of us with your inquiries! I can always use more treats!

See you at the races!

October 16, 2009 — Shakedown at E-Town…IHRA… Whatever… Let’s just go racing!

So as you may have noticed from my first post, I pay attention. It has been a bit since they have scooped me up and put me in the motor home to go racing. So this week, I noticed the signs. Mommy has been cooking…..a lot! Boy, does it smell good too! I see meatballs, sausage, and veggies some chicken……WOW! They eat really good food! I guess that’s why they call her ‘The Chef’! By the way, they don’t give me any of it! I eat some boring brown crunchy stuff.

Anyway, besides the food, I see crew shirts, gear, computers…..that kind of stuff. That means we are goin’ racin’! Since it has been a while, I am excited to go. I need to see my peeps, ya know!

So I hear we are not going too far. Englishtown, New Jersey. The Shakedown at E-Town. It is huge! Everyone is coming, friends, and family and even Mommy’s clients from work. She is a hairdresser, you know.

So it looks like we are all packed and ready to go. I see my bag of food and toys so I think we are getting in the truck…..then I hear it. Cancelled…..HHHMM …Cancelled, I think…I am not sure what that means. Then I see my food come out of my toy bag and it hit me. We are not going. It was so rainy and cold outside that the cars could not run. Everyone on the team is disappointed, including me. I like to go to the track and hang out and watch what goes on in the pits while I am in my custom junior dragster stroller.

So, I was out in the garage with Daddy, and I have to tell you the cars look good and are ready to go. I see them up in the air. So they are not on the ground, but I hear everyone talking and they are saying that it is a shame we are not racing. Daddy ran a 3.99 to the 1/8 at a testing session a couple of weeks ago at Maple Grove, so he really wants to go, go, go!

Now I hear them talking again. I guess we are still going racing. IHRA they say. We are headed to the IHRA World finals in Rockingham! We are going to the ‘Rock’! I guess that is exciting to them. I am just glad I get to be out of doors in my cool stroller! I like to watch them work on the cars. I like to meet the fans. It’s fun!

Bella PariseWe are on our way to North Carolina. Mommy and Daddy are making their IHRA debut and so am I! So if you like beautiful cars that are screamin’ fast, you should come! Go to the events calendar for more information!

Don’t forget, if you do come, to make a donation to one of Mommy or Daddy’s charities that they support! The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society! If you make a donation, be assured that 100% of that donation is designated toward programs, services or research for that specific charity. Donations are greatly appreciated! And if you donate, you can meet me! You can even pet me too!

I will be back after IHRA to let you know how things went! Wish us luck!

See you at the races!

August 21, 2009

Since this is my first blog, let me introduce myself. My name is Bella Booda. You may have seen me on the team page or at the track. I am the Parise’s Pug. You can find me hanging out in the pits in my junior dragster stroller. They call me the team mascot. I am not quite sure what that means, but if it means cute, then I guess I am a mascot.

Last weekend they dragged me to another hot track (Maryland International Raceway ) for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod event. I got to stay in my stroller for some of the day until it became too hot. I know when the race is going to start because they make me go inside.

So, the first time I went inside, I knew it was time to race…Daddy carried me inside. I gave him a good luck and a Happy Birthday kiss! Off he went…… and then I heard them come back.

Mommy was not very happy. Then I saw her car was up in the air and all the parts were lying on the ground. Now, I am just a dog, but I don’t think that is a good thing. Then I hear them saying stuff like “kickin’ a rod” whatever that means. Mommy’s car never left the pit area again.

Daddy, on the other hand was in and out of the pit area quite a bit. I remember it being light out, and then it became dark out. Very dark. I remember hearing everyone yelling , “Woo Hoo “ and “Good Job, Bam Bam! How’s that for a Birthday present!?” Stuff like that. They said he won the race! Guess my kiss was lucky after all! I was happy because that just meant I got to finally go for a walk. I think they forgot that I can’t use that big round thing like they can!

I heard someone say, “Wow, it’s 1 am!” I guess that’s late. I don’t care; I am just sitting in my stroller, chewing my bone. All I see is everyone working. They are putting things away. Cars, tools, boxes……. All gone! Can we go to sleep now?

Ugh! Now they are eating dinner? I am very confused. Shouldn’t we be sleeping or something? This whole thing is just confusing. Now they are just sitting and talking about the day’s events. I really need to get some sleep. Finally! Turning in…. it’s 4am!

I am nice and warm under the blanket and here they are again, waking me up. Time to go. Now, we are going home! Back to NY. I know I am not going to get used to being home once we get there, because they will just pack me up again to go sooner or later! I don’t mind though. I have made lots of friends and my cute face raises lots of donations for the charities they support! At least that’s what they tell me. Do you think that is why they keep me around? Nah, I’m too cute to let go!

I heard them saying that the next stop is Virginia Motorsports Park ! I love that place. I get to see my friend Cappy! He is furry too!

Woof at you soon!
